Discrimination, harassment and stereotyping are just some of the barriers women in the trucking industry face.
While advocates have pushed for change for years, they’re starting to get more traction with the Women of Trucking Advisory Board. In its first meeting earlier this week, the group examined new FMCSA research regarding ethnic and gender-based driver harassment.
The Women In Trucking Association is another group working to make the industry more inclusive to women. Its Accelerate! Conference & Expo starts Sunday and continues through Wednesday in Dallas. If you’re attending, send me a note or say hello!
