- Waabi signed a multiyear lease on an autonomous trucking terminal in Lancaster, Texas, south of Dallas, according to an April 30 news release.
- The property covers over eight acres, including several acres for truck parking, a 24,700-square-foot office and maintenance shop, fueling station and truck scales, the company said.
- “We see this facility as a key player in not only Waabi’s future, but the future of autonomous trucking, as we use it to scale our operations,” founder and CEO Raquel Urtasun said in the release.

Leading autonomous tech companies are seeking to remove drivers from vehicles on public roads later this year.
Waabi started its commercial presence in Texas last year, hauling loads between Dallas and Houston with Uber Freight, the company noted.
“The Lancaster terminal will allow the company to establish, practice, and refine the required infrastructure, operating processes, and customer services needed for commercial driverless operations,” the company said.
Urtasun said in a LinkedIn post that the terminal “will serve as a critical center for Waabi’s on-road operations.”
