Editor’s note: This page is an FAQ for readers regarding our publication’s name change.
On Aug. 28, this publication's name will become Trucking Dive.
We decided to change the name to better reflect our coverage and editorial ambitions. Beginning that Monday afternoon, readers who visit us will see the new name reflected across our site.
Our editorial, business and technology teams have been working to ensure readers do not feel any impacts from the change. With that in mind, we also put together a list of answers to some questions we anticipate may arise due to the name change.
Q: Will the old URLs still work? Can I keep my transportdive.com bookmark the same?
A: Yes, any page on transportdive.com will still exist. The URLs for those pages will still be accessible but redirect to a version of the same, unchanged page on truckingdive.com. You can always reach out to us if you experience any issues, at [email protected].
Q: Why is this happening?
A: Our content strategy always sought to primarily serve the trucking industry executive.
However, over the years, it became apparent the publication's name did not appropriately reflect that goal. Making the name change from transport to trucking allows readers to accurately understand our coverage scope at a glance, rather than through research.
Through the name change, we also hope to avoid confusion with the coverage scope of other brands in our company's portfolio, including our shipper-focused sister publication Supply Chain Dive, and the newly-launched brand for auto executives, Automotive Dive.
Q: Does this change the publication's editorial strategy?
A: No. Our journalists have always sought to serve trucking industry readers, and that will stay the same.
Trucking Dive will continue to cover the latest news and analyze the trends to help executives at both national and regional carriers understand how to navigate these changes, increase operational efficiency and improve revenue.
Q: Why is the name change happening now?
A: We had looked into whether a name change made sense for years, and decided to pursue it last year as we saw audience numbers grow with the direction of our coverage. We finalized plans to change the name earlier this year after scoping out the technical work we'd have to do to ensure it was a seamless experience for readers.
Q: Is the size of the staff or frequency of the daily newsletter changing?
A: No, Trucking Dive's current news staff will remain the same.
Colin Campbell, David Taube and Larry Avila will continue exploring the stories on truckload operations, LTL shifts, intermodal trends, parking issues and industry-wide reactions to Yellow's bankruptcy, among the many other daily stories affecting the fragmented commercial trucking industry.
Subscribers to our newsletter can expect to continue receiving daily coverage of news and trends about trucking operations, technology, labor, equipment and M&A activity, delivered to their inbox.
P.S. If you don’t get our daily newsletter, you can subscribe for these free insights here ahead of the Aug 28th change.
