Trimac named Frankie Fuchs VP of safety reporting to COO Ryan Collinge, the company announced June 1.

Fuchs will oversee companywide safety strategy and strengthen collaboration with operations to drive safety performance, the Canada-based bulk carrier said in the release.
Collinge said Fuchs brings a practical approach to safety leadership that aligns with how Trimac operates.
“He will help us build on our strong safety programs and focus more deeply on the behaviours that create risk in our business,” Collinge said, adding Fuchs’ “ability to connect safety strategy to operational performance will be a great asset to our organization.”
Fuchs most recently served as VP of global environmental, health and safety and operational excellence at Finning Caterpillar, per his LinkedIn profile. He has more than 25 years of safety leadership experience across numerous industries including transportation, mining, construction, manufacturing and oil and gas, the release said.
Trimac said Fuchs’ people-first approach syncs with the company’s core values. He will aid the carrier in streamlining information flow and support teams in managing risk in their day-to-day work.
Fuchs takes over for Lance Hagler, a more than 12-year company veteran, who has transitioned to director of safety operations, a company spokesperson said in an email to Trucking Dive.
