For the transport industry, 2021 may be best described as the year of the shortage: tractors, trailers, semiconductors, capacity, drivers — the list goes on. If a trucking firm needed it, it was hard to find.
But the industry is creative and used to solving problems.
Some fleets used social media to connect with and retain drivers. Others focused on dedicated lanes, to get drivers home each night. And others partnered with OEMs, to ensure they were at the top of the delivery list when production started rolling again.
