• Motive has partnered with Navistar to integrate the companies’ platforms and expand data services, the fleet management software startup announced Wednesday.
• The two companies will integrate Navistar’s remote diagnostic platform with Motive’s Automated Operations Platform to give users greater visibility into safety and maintenance issues, according to Motive. 
• “Through this partnership, our customers will be able to access even more data about their fleets, enabling our AI-powered applications to further improve the safety, productivity, and profitability of their operations,” Motive Chief Product Officer Jai Ranganathan said in a statement.

The partnership comes as Motive, formerly known as KeepTruckin, works to expand its offerings.

The company rebranded in April, launching its Automated Operations Platform, an AI-powered tool that automates vehicle and equipment tracking, driver safety, compliance, maintenance and spend management, according to a press release. 

With the Navistar integration, users will be able to access “Navistar’s factory-installed devices on International Trucks” to access “native telematics such as vehicle location, engine hours, tire pressure, brake and cabin temperatures, and lights status directly from the vehicle manufacturer,” Motive said in a statement.

Motive has launched multiple new products this year, including the release of a corporate card in April, which integrates into its fleet management platform and offers fuel discounts at gas stations such as Love’s, TA and Petro Stopping Stations.

The startup, which has been raising capital through multiple funding rounds in recent months, plans to use an influx of $150 million raised in May to “accelerate its investment in AI, expand its product suite into spend management, and grow its enterprise capabilities.”

A growing number of trucking companies are turning to optimization software to drive route efficiency as supply chain volatility continues to disrupt the industry. Last year, Loadsmart acquired trucking management system Kamion and warehouse scheduling software Opendock in an attempt to reduce empty miles and increase visibility across operations.
