ArcBest View, a free shipping tool to book and manage freight, underwent a series of enhancements to make the experience more user friendly.
The transportation company, which includes LTL carrier ABF Freight, added capabilities to make it simpler and more efficient following feedback from customers, according to an Oct. 13 news release.
The new features include an automated National Motor Freight Classification capability. With that, shipment details help generate the appropriate NMFC code and help support accuracy, ArcBest said.
With the automated classification tool, known as Auto NMFC, shippers are responsible for confirming accurate classification, but ArcBest’s rating department is able to catch and resolve misclassifications when the shipment is getting billed, the company told Trucking Dive in an email.
Other features in the ArcBest View platform include real-time tracking and the ability to add cargo coverage for eligible LTL shipments within the platform, rather than going elsewhere.
“Our customers tell us they want logistics solutions that reduce the friction in their processes,” ArcBest Chief Strategy Officer Christopher Adkins said in the release. “That’s why we continue to invest in ArcBest View, building practical capabilities that customers are asking for and that fit naturally into their day-to-day operations.”
The company rolled out the platform in May under the tagline “You Can See Everything From Here.” The platform gives shippers quick and comprehensive checks on the status of their freight. CEO and President Seth Runser noted in a Q2 earnings call that ArcBest built the platform with the customer experience as a central focus behind it, seeking to develop an intuitive logistics management resource.

“Customer engagement continues to grow, reinforcing our belief that ArcBest View can improve the customer experience, increase digital adoption and enhance productivity for both customers and our teams,” he said.
