Radiant Logistics acquired Seattle-based Cascade Transportation, the non-asset-based third-party logistics provider announced on June 3.
The acquisition expands Radiant’s presence in the retail, e-commerce, production furniture and tradeshow markets, the company said. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Cascade’s current leadership will continue to manage the business, which will operate as Radiant Global Logistics after the deal closes, according to the release.
Information from the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration shows Cascade, a privately held company, operated five power units, employed five drivers and hauled general and air freight.
Cascade’s David Comstock said the company has sought a long-term partner that shares its vision to advance the business.
“We are excited to now transition the business in a way ensures the continued success of our customers and employees while also enabling the opportunity for growth as part of a larger organization moving forward,” Comstock said.
Radiant Logistics founder and CEO Bohn Crain said the acquisition represents a broader pipeline of opportunities.
"We are pleased to be able to support Cascade in this transition and are excited for this next chapter with David and the entire team,” Crain said in a statement.
Radiant recently noted its appetite for acquisitions, especially ones that provide geographic and purchasing leverage as well as others that complement its business, per a quarterly report filing in May. In April, Radiant acquired Minnesota-based Viking Worldwide’s operations.
