R&R Express has added another business to its growing family of trucking businesses, the company announced Monday.
The Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania-based LTL and truckload carrier and brokerage acquired Taylor Transportation, a North Carolina-based carrier focused on the auto and tire industries. Taylor Transportation operates in Hope Mills, North Carolina, and Union City, Tennessee, and was founded in 1987.
This purchase follows R&R’s acquisition of Load to Ride, an LTL, reefer, special handling and warehousing services provider in Denver, Colorado in March.
The addition of Taylor Transport’s two locations bolsters its maintenance network to support R&R’s national expansion, the company said in its announcement.
“Taylor’s fleet of new tractors and trailers along with their two service facilities, leaders, and their team will help R&R become even more efficient and continue to provide our customers with best-in-class customer service,” R&R Express CEO Richard Francis said in a statement.
Taylor Transport has 104 employees, including 88 drivers, who operate a fleet of 85 tractors and more than 200 trailers.
