R&R Express has its sights set on western expansion.
The Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania-based LTL and truckload carrier and brokerage announced it acquired Load to Ride in Denver, Colorado a provider of LTL, reefer, special handling and warehousing services provider. LTR’s fleet includes more than 100 trucks and 200 trailers.
R&R said the purchase provides the company a gateway to the West Coast for cross-dock services and short-term storage. LTR’s Denver warehouse and large trailer yard offer storage options while its repair facility provides access to onsite maintenance.
Denver gives R&R another presence in a major western U.S. market. The company has a southwest location in the Phoenix/Chandler area.
R&R’s other locations are in Jacksonville and Tampa, Florida; Elkhart, Indiana; Kansas City, Missouri; Boston, Massachusetts; Houston, Texas and a safety office in Illinois.
R&R CEO Richard Francis said in a statement that the purchase provides customers of both companies more transport options.
“LTR benefits all R&R Express customers by providing them with expanded customizable supply chain solutions,” he said. “This expansion is a good fit that helps both organizations continue to provide best-in-class customer support.”
