Two brake recalls issued in the past month affected over 32,000 Navistar vehicles.
A software error can cause the park brake to fail, and a programming issue could make the engine rev and overtake the parking brake, according to letters from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
The problems mostly affect International MV medium-duty trucks, and the engine revving issue expands a previous recall, which involved over 17,000 vehicles.
To remedy the issues, dealers will update software free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be sent April 24.
