Dive Brief:
- Love’s Travel Stops will further expand a Freightliner maintenance program with Daimler Truck North America to offer warranty repairs and related services at more locations, according to a news release earlier this month.
- The Freightliner ExpressPoint program provides recall, roadside warranty emergency services and other field needs at over 400 Love’s and Speedco locations. The companies developed the partnership over the past year to help get trucks back on the road more quickly.
- The expansion builds upon the existing network of Love’s Truck Care service centers, and additional openings are planned, the companies said.
Dive Insight:
The partnership has helped triage repair work by having dealers provide parts to Freightliner ExpressPoint, bolstering an existing coverage network to provide time-saving repairs and maintenance.
“We show full commitment to our customer’s uptime by expanding select service offerings with more than 400 Love’s Truck Care and Speedco locations to Freightliner customers,” Paul Romanaggi, Daimler Truck North America’s chief customer experience officer and general manager of service, said in the news release.
The network hit its rollout milestone after the pair detailed its strategy in January 2023. Eric Daniels, VP of total truck care at Love’s, said in the news release that the Freightliner ExpressPoint network is now fully online, less than a year after announcing the partnership.
Love’s has over 640 locations across 42 states and opened its first Truck Care location in 2008, per its website. The convenience store chain developed a similar program with Navistar in 2019.
The Freightliner ExpressPoint program provides recall repairs for free for professional driver customers, serviced by Love’s diesel technicians through an exclusive partnership, a spokesperson said. The service has meant the participating sites work with local dealers to ensure parts are available.
“In addition, our shops are now approved to provide warranty-specific repairs and campaign recalls, whereas they were not able to prior to our partnership,” Love’s said in a statement to Trucking Dive.
