Four Star Freightliner opened its eighth U.S. dealership on April 1 in Georgiana, Alabama, according to a company press release.
The facility, located off Interstate 65 at 200 Industrial Park Drive, is the company’s fourth location in Alabama and first expansion since December 2019. In addition to its other locations in Alabama, including its original sites in Montgomery and Dothan, the Freightliner and Western Star dealer has grown its network to include three locations in Georgia and one in Florida.
“The Georgiana location eliminates the need for customers to travel to larger cities, saving them valuable time and miles,” Four Star Freightliner’s website says.
The new 6,000-square-foot operation will offer drivers a one-stop shop for repairs, maintenance and parts, the release said.
Four Star Freightliner diesel technicians Chris White and Durrell McKinnon, who are based in Montgomery, will open the new location, said Jerry Kocan, dealer principal of Four Star Freightliner, in the release.
The company invested $300,000 to open a diesel technician training center in 2020, with support from Daimler Trucks of North America. In addition, the medium- and heavy-duty truck dealer has advanced efforts to develop its workforce by registering its diesel technician apprenticeship program with the state of Alabama, according to a January press release.
The company operates Daimler Elite Support dealerships, which are equipped with advanced technology and staffed by highly trained technicians who focus on minimizing downtimes.
