Two former Yellow Logistics leaders have found new jobs with Wisconsin-based brokerage Valley Companies.
Rick Loerke was hired as director of customer solutions and Nathan Ragner as logistics specialist, the company announced in a press release. Valley Companies confirmed to Trucking Dive that Loerke and Ragner worked for Yellow’s brokerage, which the shuttered LTL carrier unsuccessfully sought to sell before filing for bankruptcy this summer.
Loerke worked for Yellow Logistics from 2006 until August, most recently as an engineered and expedited solutions manager, according to LinkedIn. Ragner worked as an engineered solutions project manager for the company from 2019 until August, accoding to LinkedIn.
Loerke will lead Valley’s expedited group, including cargo van, sprinter van, straight truck and over-the-road team drivers. He will also oversee other expedited projects, as well as customer needs that require faster than over-the-road methods, the company said. In addition, Loerke will manage one- to three-day air deliveries and expedited ground shipping, while also working to establish a new custom projects group.
Ragner will manage expedited shipments and provide quotes and routing support.
CEO Todd Gilbert said Loerke and Ragner bring unique skill sets, making them a good fit for Valley Companies.
“Specifically, both will be heavily involved in expanding our expedited and project management service lines, where both have worked with some of the largest and most recognizable big box and retail brand names in the country,” Gilbert said in a statement.
