Dreamliner has ramped up its events transportation niche with the acquisitions of specialty carriers Shomotion and Show Pro, the company announced in an emailed press release Monday.
The Nashville-based custom coach provider said in an emailed statement that the addition of Shomotion and Show Pro expands its service offerings to include events transportation and logistics services with companies whose high-profile clients include music headliners Taylor Swift, Beyoncé, Metallica, Coldplay, Elton John, Jelly Roll and SZA. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Shomotion founder and CEO Michael Scherkenbach along with Show Pro founders and co-owners Kat Stiller and Curtis Jackson will join Dreamliner’s executive team to lead the company’s transportation services division, according to the announcement. All 65 full-time Shomotion and Show Pro employees also will be retained.
The deal includes Shomotion’s five-acre Denver facility and Show Pro’s three-acre Nashville site, according to the news release. Dreamliner will add more than 70 trucks and 220 trailers, including air ride van trailers, drop deck van trailers, liftgate trailers, and step deck flatbeds.
Dreamliner’s latest purchase follows its acquisition of Hemphill Brothers Coach Company in November 2023, which nearly tripled its coach fleet to 190, and Diamond Coach Leasing in June 2022. The addition of Shomotion and Show Pro opens opportunities in motion picture production, mobile marketing campaigns, theatrical productions and festivals throughout North America, Dreamliner said.
Dreamliner founder and CEO Rich Thomson said his company will benefit from the combined experiences of Shomotion and Show Pro as it works to grow its entertainment transportation business.
“By adding Mike, Curtis and Kat’s experience to our best in class coaches and services, we will bring a full one-stop solution to all touring transportation needs,” Thompson said.
Scherkenbach said the combined company will have the scale to provide ground transportation solutions tailored to the entertainment touring industry.
Stiller said she has developed strong trust with Shomotion and Dreamliner, having previously worked with both companies.
“When looking at the future, we know Dreamliner has the capabilities and passion in the industry to bring our combined companies to new heights,” she said.
