Coyote Logistics CFO Sandeep Pisipati has been promoted to CEO, the UPS-owned 3PL announced Tuesday.
Pisipati, who has been with Coyote for five years, replaces CEO Jonathan Sisler, who is leaving to pursue other opportunities, according to the company.
“We are in an incredibly privileged position in this industry with our talent, relationship with UPS and network of shippers and carriers,” Pisipati said in a statement. “This is what attracted me to Coyote in 2018 and remains the driving force behind my passion for the business and vision for the future.”
The C-suite reshuffling follows layoffs earlier this year at Coyote, which was acquired by UPS in 2015 for $1.8 billion.
Pisipati has more than 18 years of financial leadership experience across public- and private-sector supply chains and brings a depth of skill, knowledge and passion to the role, according to the company.
During his time with Coyote, Pisipati has transformed the corporate finance functions and reporting structures of the business, which created greater operational efficiency.
Pisipati has demonstrated expertise in every facet of corporate finance, a deep understanding of the subsidiary’s relationship with its parent company and “expertise in navigating freight market cycles,” Coyote said. He also prioritizes customer experience and understanding clients’ needs as they evolve, the company said.
In a statement, Sisler described his time with Coyote as “transformative” and said he was proud of the company’s accomplishments during his tenure.
“While difficult, this is the right decision at the right time,” Sisler said. “I’m confident Sandeep’s well-rounded approach and vision will guide the company through an exciting new phase.”
Bill Seward, president of UPS Supply Chain Solutions, said Pisipati brings acumen and ability to deliver results.
“I’ve had the opportunity to work closely with Sandeep and believe in his strategic vision for the future of Coyote,” Seward said in a statement. “I look forward to working with him and the entire Coyote leadership team as we collaborate even further to deliver what matters.”
