CMC promoted Joseph Pignataro to CFO where he will continue overseeing financial operations and aid in driving growth, the company announced May 12.

Pignataro has served as SVP of finance since September 2022 but has been an advisor to the company since 2013, per the release. As SVP, he contributed to the integration of operations following the merger involving ITI Intermodal and Columbia Group, which led to the formation of CMC, the umbrella organization that also includes Container Maintenance Company.
Vincent Marino, president and CEO of CMC, said Pignataro’s long-term contributions shaped where the Charleston, South Carolina-based integrated intermodal services company is today. His promotion is part of the company’s broader effort to stengthen and develop CMC’s leadership team, according to the release.
“He’s been a steady leader through periods of growth and change, and as we continue to build out our leadership team, we’re confident in our direction and our ability to keep growing together,” Marino said in the release.
Pignataro initially joined the company to modernize the company’s financial reporting, but the role was expanded to include leadership of the finance team and support daily operations and long-term planning, the release said. He is a licensed Certtified Public Accountant in New York, whose experiences included auditing and taxes, working with clients in manufacturing, financial services, logistics and intermodal.
The company said Pignataro’s promotion is part of the company’s broader effort to strengthen its leadership team. It follows the recent promotions of Davey Miller to COO and Michael Wojnowski to SVP south region.
