Bay & Bay Transportation named Justin Johnson president of trucking, the company announced last week.
Johnson joined the Eagan, Minnesota-based reefer and logistics company in 2006 and has served in numerous leadership roles in the carrier’s trucking and logistics divisions. He takes over for Lisa Gonnerman, who left the company and now is VP of enterprise services at TA Dedicated, according to her LinkedIn profile.
CEO Sam Anderson said Johnson’s experience as the company’s president of logistics and knowledge of trucking and customer service made him the right fit for the role, adding “he understands the complexities of the industry and how to meet our customers’ needs.”
Growing its reefer and logistics business units is a priority for Bay & Bay. The company said its refrigerated trucking and multi-modal logistics segments have grown on average 25% annually the past three years, a trend it wants to continue, as well as boost near-term profitability.
On the non-asset side of the company, Johnson said its focus will be growing at a minimum of 25% annually.
