Averitt Express launched a Guaranteed By Noon LTL delivery service in select ZIP codes, the carrier announced last week.
As its name implies, the service ensures LTL shipments will be dropped off by 12 p.m. on the published standard transit date.
Guaranteed By Noon is available in more than 2,300 ZIP codes in Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Missouri, Mississippi, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, Wisconsin and West Virginia.
“We are constantly looking for ways to enhance the value we provide to our customers,” said Kent Williams, Averitt’s EVP of sales and marketing.
The Guaranteed by Noon service represents “another step in delivering reliable and efficient solutions that our customers can count on to meet their shipping needs,” Williams added.
The new Averitt offering is similar to services offered by other LTL providers such as Old Dominion Freight Line, Manitoulin Transport and XPO.
Averitt’s investment in speedier service comes as FedEx Freight moved in the opposite direction as it slashed spending last quarter ahead of an expected spinoff. The LTL giant kicked off an International Deferred Freight service in July, offering slower transit times for non-time-sensitive freight.
