- Andrew Petrisin, creator of the federal Department of Transportation’s landmark supply chain data-sharing program, was promoted to deputy assistant secretary for multimodal freight, he shared on LinkedIn.
- The Freight Logistics Optimization Works platform has been a highlight of Petrisin’s time with the Biden administration beginning with the White House Supply Chain Disruptions Task Force, he told Trucking Dive.
- He will continue to report to Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary Allison Dane Camden, who was appointed last fall to lead the Office of Multimodal Freight Infrastructure and Policy created as part of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law.

The new Multimodal Office has given Petrisin and his colleagues the ability to help institutionalize and enhance the DOT’s capacity to shape resilient supply chains, he said.
The office described him as “the visionary behind FLOW” in sharing Petrisin’s LinkedIn post on the program’s page.
The pride Petrisin feels in the FLOW initiative is “not only because of the novel data exchange, but because of the community we have been able to build between the public and private sectors to improve the global supply chain,” he said in an email.
The FLOW platform has added Ports America Chesapeake, which operates the Port of Baltimore’s container terminal, and others to its growing membership. It began publishing more types of data for an enhanced view of container import volumes in March.
“Under President Biden and Secretary Buttigieg, we have transformed how USDOT approaches supply chain work through our new Office of Multimodal Freight Infrastructure and Policy, FLOW, and the historic supply chain investments from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law,” Petrisin said.
