Anderson Trucking Service appointed Tracy Koenig chief information officer, the company announced Sept. 1.
Brent Anderson, president of Anderson Trucking Service, said Koenig’s ability to connect technology strategy to business strategy made him the right choice to be the carrier’s next CIO.
“He understands that technology is not simply about systems and infrastructure — it's about enabling people, improving decision-making, supporting customers, and creating competitive advantage,” Anderson said. He added that Koenig’s leadership style and strategic mindset aligns well with the company’s culture.
Koenig has over three decades of experience in executive leadership and technology leadership roles, according to his LinkedIn profile. He most recently was self-employed as a strategic advisor, and prior to that was CIO of Dakota Supply Group, a wholesale distributor of electrical, plumbing and other utility products.
Anderson Trucking noted in its announcement that while Koenig is new to the transportation industry, the carrier believes his leadership experience and background with technology will help the company strengthen parts of its operations, including cybersecurity.
“Technology is evolving faster than ever," Koenig said. "It's important that we invest in technology solutions that support our customers, drivers, and employees, while helping ATS continue to grow as an industry leader."
The St. Cloud, Minnesota-based firm is a family-owned logistics company that provides many services, including dry van, flatbed, heavy haul, warehousing and freight brokerage. The company had 318 power units and 291 drivers as of June 2025, according to a federal database.
Koenig’s hiring, which occurred in July, was part of the carrier’s CIO leadership transition plan. He will take over for current CIO Julius Chepey, who is retiring in December.
The company credited Chepey for growing its digital capabilities. He spent more than three decades in various technology leadership roles including the past five years with Anderson Trucking Service.
