Dive Insight:
Growth is a priority for AmeriLux International, a distributor of multiwall and corrugated sheets and plastic sheet products.
Acquiring Dedicated Systems more than doubled AmeriLux Transportation’s fleet. The transportation segment launched in 2012 as part of AmeriLux International to reduce lead times and improve on-time delivery, according to a company website.
A federal database showed AmeriLux Transportation operated a fleet of 54 power units with 63 drivers as of late fall 2025, while Dedicated Systems had 68 power units and 70 drivers as of April, according to Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration records.
In addition to the acquisition, AmeriLux Transportation announced a strategic partnership with fleet maintenance and truck leasing firm, Airoldi Brothers of Oak Creek, Wisconsin. Airoldi will relocate its maintenance operations to Dedicated Systems’ Green Bay facility, per the release.
Merger and acquisition activity in trucking is expected to remain active in 2026, according to the PwC travel, transportation and logistics midyear outlook. The report noted fuel price volatility could be a catalyst for future deals.
“If diesel prices remain elevated in the second half of 2026, we may observe higher investor interest in targets with fuel-efficient fleets,” according to the PwC report.
Mike Ross, PwC U.S. consumer markets deals leader, said in an email to Trucking Drive that specialized trucking providers are most likely to see consolidation activity in the second half of the year.
“Consolidation remains active in trucking, particularly in specialty categories including dedicated trucking, temperature-controlled service providers and healthcare logistics,” Ross said.
