Air Van has acquired Imeson Distribution Center, the company announced earlier this month.
The move adds more than 700,000 square feet of mixed storage space in Jacksonville, Florida, to the third-party logistics provider’s warehouse portfolio, which now encompasses 800,000 square feet, according to a company press release. The purchase follows the company's February acquisition of 35,000 square feet of warehouse space from G&C Cartage.
Imeson, which was led by CEO Daniel Webb, will now operate as part of Air Van, the release noted. Air Van is based in Jacksonville, Florida, and is a time-critical cargo services carrier, which has 16 power units and 18 drivers, according to Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration data.
Air Van President and CEO Ike Sherlock said the acquisition offers access to Imerson’s customers for trucking, brokerage and customs-bonded services. For Air Van, the addition of Imeson opens access to rail-sided temperature-controlled storage services.
“We have extreme respect for the accomplishments and service Imeson Distribution Center provided its clients over the last 40 years,” Sherlock said, adding that, “with all that Air Van, Inc. can offer our entire client base, especially with the benefits of this purchase, we are more prepared than ever to service each customer, however big or small.”
