Dive Brief:
- AAA Cooper Transportation promoted new presidents, appointing a pair of internal leaders to head LTL and dedicated services, respectively, the carrier said on LinkedIn.
- Chris Durley took the reins as president of LTL services, and Cory Bingham is president of the carrier’s dedicated division, according to the announcements. Parent company Knight-Swift Transportation Holdings did not immediately respond to a question about who each leader replaced in the roles.
- Durley previously led the dedicated unit, among other roles including supervisor, manager and director over his 37 years at AAA Cooper. Bingham has spent his nine years at the company transforming the dedicated business into a scalable service in the market, the carrier said.
Dive Insight:
The promotions are part of an executive shuffle at the Alabama-based LTL carrier three years after its $1.35 billion acquisition by Knight-Swift.
Longtime President and COO Charlie Prickett was promoted to CEO in June, succeeding Reid Dove, who ascended to chair of the AAA Cooper board after 24 years as CEO.
Last month brought another change to the company’s C-suite: John Hammons, VP of enterprise development, was promoted to EVP and chief strategy officer.
The leadership overhaul comes as Knight-Swift moves aggressively to expand its in-house LTL network nationwide by 2026.
The corporate parent has grown that network organically and via M&A this year. Knight-Swift added 11 new terminals in Q2 and acquired Los Angeles-based Dependable Highway Express, which has another 14 locations.
