FST Logistics has acquired Hyway Trucking, the company announced Sept. 29.
The purchase is the first for the Dublin, Ohio-based employee-owned 3PL services provider which launched in 1991, a company spokesperson told Trucking Dive. FST’s fleet of 73 tractors and 129 trailers will be joined by Findlay, Ohio-based Hyway’s 70 tractors and 300 trailers.
The deal adds Hyway’s dry van and drop-and-hook services to FST’s offerings which includes brokerage, warehousing, and reefer services. The combined operations will employ more than 500 people, which includes about 125 drivers.
“With the addition of Hyway Trucking and its asset-based truckload model, we are now uniquely positioned to offer unparalleled transportation and logistics full-service solutions to our customers, ensuring our ongoing commitment to the success of FST,” FST Chairman and CEO Matt Hartman said in a statement.
Hyway will retain its name and operate as a subsidiary of FST, according to a company spokesperson.
