Dive Brief:
- ITS Logistics added a 700,000 square-foot warehouse to its Whitestown, Indiana campus in January. The expansion brings the company’s warehouse capacity to 1.3 million square feet in Indiana.
- With the expanded Indiana site, ITS Logistics can now reach 75% of U.S. and Canada-based populations within two days, Ryan Martin, president of assets for ITS Logistics, said in a press release.
- The facility launch brings the Nevada-based company closer to its goal of operating over two million square feet of Midwest warehouse space in the next two years.
Dive Insight:
The expansion of the Whitestown site is a strategic choice given its proximity to several major interstates, an extensive rail network, three ports and 117 public-use aviation facilities, Martin said in the release.
“This aids us in making the omnichannel distribution and fulfillment service process convenient for our customers as they face challenges during supply chain disruptions,” he said in a statement.
ITS Logistics, which opened its first Indiana site in 2021, is also aiming to grow its Midwest truck fleet to 65 tractors, over 70 drivers and 200-plus trailers by next year. The company currently operates facilities in Nevada, California, Indiana, Washington, Oregon, Utah, Arizona, Ohio, Georgia, Pennsylvania and Texas.
